Shalom, this recipe sounds great, but I would like to make it healthier. so I'm not sure I understood. If I use 1/2 cup applesace do I omit the sugar? and the oil can just simply be cut down? can you please clarify this? also, do you think I can use spelt, instead of flour?

This is a great recipe but I don't really know about making it healthier since this is the only version I've tried. The only option would be to experiment with different ingredients. In regards to your questions; ~ The 1/2 c. applesauce and 3/4 c. oil is instead of the 1 1/4 c. oil. ~ The applesauce is not instead of sugar. ~ Spelt flour is usually interchangeable with regular flour. If you hit upon a good combination, please post it - I'm sure we would all appreciate a healthier version
