I make the same ice cream without the liquor and nutmeg. You can also use vanilla pudding for vanilla ice cream. Sometimes, I mix them in a swirl in a graham cracker crust for a nice shabbos dessert.

The thing about using liquor is that it makes the ice cream not freeze completely so it is easy to serve and doesn't need to be taken out of the freezer until immediately before serving. ps: I did write you can use vanilla pudding also.

nougat powder is apparently only available in israel. You don't need it it just adds flavor. It tastes great without it too.

instant pudding mix or regular?

The liquor and nutmeg is for added taste. Really you can add whatever you want. Graham crackers sounds yum!
