My mother-in-law invented this recipe and it is everything you are looking for in a sweet bread; sweet but not too sweet, yet light and fluffy. We have it on Yom Tov as a special treat.

Helpful Hints
A towel spread on top of the bread on a dry day keeps the moisture in so it doesn't dry out.

Also, is there any difference between Israeli flour and American flour? Thanks!

American commercial white flour generally comes in many different types, such as high-gluten, better for bread, all-purpose, and others I'm sure I don't know about. Israeli commercial white flour is one type--bleached, all-purpose. That's a general overview, but my husband is a Rosh Chaburah of a matza chabura, and he could give you a whole lecture on the different types of wheat here in Israel (Negev, Ariel, etc.) and their properties. So, based on that, I would say it is hard to predict

Dry yeast, here in Israel, I use PACA which comes vacuum packed, it's a red and blue package which costs around 12 NIS. In the US, Fleischmann's or Red Star should do it.
