FOUR cups of sugar in one cake..!?!? Yikes!!! And then icing on top of that....???

Are you supposed to put boiling water twice?
yaelw, 2012-03-12
The database doesn't like me, so here goes! This recipe makes the amount of 2 9x13s, so it's not more sugar than your standard chocolate cake. I made it for Mishloach Manos and cut it into 4. We iced it on strong clear plastic plates and decorated with smiley cookies and rum balls (from the cake that flopped when someone forgot to add salt). Yes, you add 4 cups boiling water total. I have gotten rave reviews in the past few days from all the lucky Mishloach Manos receivers. All I can say

Please note: 4 cups of water total in the recipe. 2 cups are mixed with instant coffee and 2 additional cups are added.
