I put together this recipe out of necessity and my family was amazed with the results. I went to the store before Rosh Hashana looking for the pastry cups and there was NOTHING left on the shelves. So I grabbed a package of eggroll wrappers and hoped for the best. The results were scrumptious!
 
Ingredients
1 package eggroll wrappers OR 1-2 packages puff pastry cups (they come 6 to a package) or crepes
1 container freshly prepared chopped liver (OR make your own!)

SAUCE:
3 tbsp oil
2 tbsp flour
1 can mushroom pieces (OR fresh mushrooms, sliced)
salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Soy milk

Helpful Hints
Variations. Fill the puff pastry cups with parboiled frozen peas , mashed potatoes or your favorite filling and serve with the mushroom sauce.
