Summer Fruit Soup
My family calls this our summer "cholent" because we often have it instead of cholent on hot summer days. It is so refreshing and a nice change from the heavy meals we're all used to from the winter.

Helpful Hints
First look in your fridge to find the fruit from last week that is getting a little soft. Use it in this soup. Next, if you need to buy more fruit, find the cheapest to put into the soup. If peaches are cheaper than nectarines, go for them. Just make sure that they are good quality produce that will have delicious flavors.

I once bought a cherry-pitter and have never regretted it. It pits the cherries one at a time, but is really easy and, believe it or not, actually relaxing. I just never wear a white top when doing it because you never know if you'll get splashed a little.

I put the soup into 2 large canning jars and keep it on hand for refreshments during the week. It lasts for around 2 weeks (if I remember correctly!)

Delicious! i made it yesterday and we can't stop eating from it! i made it with a glass already pitted cherries, (to make it easier for me) and used the sauce from it too. Thank you!
