How many apples to get 6 cups? How many people does this serve?

I'm in Israel so what is the equivalent of 2 sticks of margarine? In addition, margarine is so unhealthy so I'd substitute light olive oil. In addition, would Splenda work in lieu of the sugar? That's an awful lot of sugar!

2 sticks of margarine is 1 cup. I don't know if splenda would work, but it is worth a try, I would recommend the Splenda brown sugar. The white sugar is sprinkled over the apples to sweeten them. The original recipe actually called for 1 cup of white sugar. I actually don't measure it I just sprinkle a small amount over all the apples I would say it is approximately 1/3 of a cup over the whole thing (I probably use a little less). I like to use either Rome or Cortland apples but you could u
