I got this recipe from a recipe website, but tweaked it to replace the margarine with oil - the result is just as good (if not better)! This is my 'keeper' chocolate chip cookie recipe.

Helpful Hints
- Try throwing in some peanut butter for PB cookies!
- If you're feeling really adventurous, prepare homemade ice cream, freeze partially, then add in some fresh-from-the-oven (still falling-apart) cookies and swirl (and refreeze) for a yummy cookie-dough style ice cream!

what type of chocolate chip cookies are these--chewy, cakey or crispy? can you make them as pan cookies? if so, what size pan and how long should they bake?

These cookies should come out crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Cooking them for less time (or replacing some of the white sugar with brown sugar) makes them chewier, and if they're cooked longer they can become crispier. I think I've made them as pan cookies before and they came out great. I don't recall which pan I used - probably a 9x13 or 2 square 9x9s. Baking time should be between 25-30 minutes most likely. Let me know how they turn out!
